Zecretaries' Javier Lusby Wins Attritional Breaking Dimensions GP @ Lime Rock Park

Lakeville, CT, 4 September – The 2024-25 Formula Hololive International season continued with intense racing action at Lime Rock Park two weekends ago, as the Breaking Dimensions GP unfolded in dramatic fashion. The picturesque circuit, known for its technical challenges, lived up to its reputation, with multiple crashes and a shuffled leaderboard that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

The weekend kicked off with two 10-lap invitational races, both decided by random grid draws. On Day 1, Bernardo Santiago capitalized on his front-row start to overtake pole-sitter Ethan Berthelsen and take the victory. The second invitational on Day 2 saw Juani Castanto replicate the feat, jumping ahead of Berthelsen at the start and holding on to secure the win.

However, the main focus was on the two feature races, where the stakes were higher, and the racing was fiercer. In Race 1 which was essentially a qualifying race that decided the Grid for Race 2, Koboker Hanaori Miyuki, who had shown exceptional form during the preseason, continued her momentum by storming to victory. After starting third, Miyuki executed clinical passes on Aziz Muazif and Zeke Wimberley before hunting down and overtaking pole-sitter Santiago to claim the win. Unfortunately for Santiago, he could only manage a fifth-place finish despite his strong qualifying performance. The race was marred by a series of crashes, most notably a collision between Wimberley and Evelyn Kuromi at the end of Turn 2 on Lap 14, which took both drivers out of contention.

Race 2 on Day 2 proved to be even more chaotic, with high attrition rates among the top drivers. The early laps saw a series of crashes that involved several key contenders, including Miyuki, Alticer Antanarau, Kaminari Riba, Castanto, and Santiago, all of whom found themselves out of the running. Amidst the chaos, Vestia Zeta representative Javier Lusby emerged victorious, securing his first win of the season after starting 11th on the grid. Lusby’s success was due to a combination of survival and skill, as he made crucial overtakes on drivers like Ludwig Boschwald representing the Otomos, Tyler Williams, and Berthelsen, who managed to avoid the numerous incidents that defined the race. Boschwald finished a commendable second, while Mohd Shazren Redza rounded out the podium in third, delivering a remarkable comeback after being involved in a first-lap pileup from 15th at the start.

The race results had a significant impact on the championship standings. Lusby’s victory propelled him to the top of the leaderboard with 575 points, while Shazren’s consistent performances with two consecutive 3rd place finishes see him just behind in second place with 500 points. Wimberley, despite his misfortune, holds third with 456 points. Boschwald’s strong finish moved him up to fourth, while Ahmed El-Ashour rounds out the top five.

As the Formula Hololive International season progresses, the next race sees the drivers take a trip down the East Coast to Road Atlanta, venue for Round 3 of the 2024-25 Formula Hololive International season. Fans can look forward to more thrilling action in the upcoming rounds, where every race will be a game-changer in the quest for the title.
