ReGloss Domination Headline Yeongnam 400

Yeongnam, May 26 – Round 2 of the 2024–25 HoloGT3 Japan Series’ Tsuyo/Zako phase unfolded under clear skies at the Korea International Circuit, where two contrasting races reinforced the pecking order in both divisions. The Zako field roared away first, but it was Shawn Goh in the Aston Martin of Ichijou Ririka who stamped his authority early. Goh built a 50-second cushion after race leader Masa Raido flipped out at Turn 4 on Lap 16, never looking back on his way to a commanding victory. Behind him, Nissan’s Ho Phu-My recovered from mid-pack to nab second for Tokino Sora, while Alticer Antanarau delivered a career milestone—his first HoloGT3 podium—for Nekomata Okayu in third. Alex Grant––fresh off his Lamy car success in Sepang––took fourth, and Kaminari Riba rounded out the top five for Shishiro Botan, marking a strong weekend for rookies and veterans alike.

Several heavy hitters fell by the wayside: Raido’s early exit reshuffled the front runners, and both Sakura Miko's Mikolev and Aki Rosenthal's Domaschnev retired after contact. Goh’s triumph vaults him up to fourth in the standings, but he still trails early leader Alex Grant by 44 points heading into Motegi. In the Tsuyo, Ford’s Jake Martinez delivered a masterclass for Hiodoshi Ao, storming to a 60-second win after a perfectly dominant run. Daniel Barguer kept Nissan’s Suisei on the podium in second, while Tyler Williams scored a season-best third for Amane Kanata, a bright spot on what was a forgettable four-week stretch. The predictable quartet of Pekora, Lui, Haato, and La+ piloted by Goyena, Kinsai who recorded his first top 5 for Lui, Nakamura and Kurashio rounded out the top seven, but disaster struck four Lexus entries—Labradores, Elgore, Ricci and Joey—all flipping spectacularly over the kerbs at Turn 4 at varying points in the race. With half the Tsuyo/Zako seasons settled, all eyes are on Motegi where the championship battles have remained wide open for anyone to swoop in.
