Shizuoka, 17 October - The HoloType World Series finally resumed its Tsuyo/Zako phase under cool, sunny skies at Fuji Speedway, where the Fuji 100 Minutes served as the rescheduled replacement for the red-flagged Suzuka Tsuyo race. And it was Grave Prower, driving the Mococo Abyssgard (EN)–entered car, stormed to victory in the Fuji 100 Minutes, marking Round 4 of the HoloType World Series and the long-awaited opener to the Tsuyo phase.
The Mococo entry, running flawlessly under Prower’s control, managed his position, strategy and late-race pressure perfectly to secure the win by a comfortable margin over Airi Nakamura, representing Akai Haato (JP). This came after he started in 2nd alongside Amane Kanata driver Tyler Williams, and stayed there until the pitstops, where Prower pitted later in what was the right call in terms of strategy, compared to Williams who pitted earlier by around 5 laps, where he was then stuck in traffic, dampening his hopes for a second win of the season for the PP Tenshi.
The start of the race saw drama immediately. Allie Jay, representing Kikirara Vivi (DEV), made heavy contact with Fuwawa driver Tawan Bhumin at Turn 1, sending the latter spinning into the barriers and out of the race. The incident drew post-race penalties with Jay’s original 11th-place finish demoted to 24th for causing the collision.
Later in the race, on Lap 32, Bae driver Lia Kai attempted a daring inside move on Shazren Redza, pilot of Koseki Bijou’s #14 car, through the 100R corner. The move backfired; Kai’s car spun at high speed and suffered race-ending damage after sliding deep into the runoff, making her the second and final DNF of the day.
With the Fuji 100 Minutes now officially counted, the JP Tsuyo standings see Sammy Ake (Shirakami Fubuki) (6th at Fuji) retain the overall lead with 290 points, followed by Ed Skye (Kazama Iroha) (4th at Fuji) at 202 and Hoshizono Ryo (Nakiri Ayame) (no poins scored at Fuji) at 175. Airi Nakamura’s second-place finish moves her into a tie for third overall, marking a four-way title fight as the Tsuyo phase continues.
In the JP Zako division, Ozne Wizard (Inugami Korone) remains the dominant force with 201 points, while Seo Byeong-eun (Koganei Niko) and Rey Mark Rosales (Shiranui Flare) stay close behind, with the latter Elfriend on a tie with Seo by virtue of his 2nd place at Suzuka.
Over in International (INT), Mohd Shazren Redza (Koseki Bijou) continues to lead the standings with 577 points, though Haziq Yazid (Shiori Novella) and now race-winner Grave Prower (Mococo Abyssgard) have closed the gap to just over seventy points
These results set up each championship battles nicely as HoloType enters the business end of the season, with two more standalone JP/INT rounds before the World Series resume at Mandalika, and then the finale at Sydney.
Up next, the JP field heads to Okayama to mark the midstage of the Japan Tsuyo/Zako Series this weekend.
