Yeongnam, 10 April — The Formula Hololive Japan Series qualifiers resume this weekend at Korea International Circuit for Round 2 of the three-race qualification phase, as the battle for World Tsuyo Cup places intensifies across both Split A and Split B.
Following a decisive opening round at Fuji, the Yeongnam SP arrives at a critical juncture in the season. With only the top half of each split advancing to the prestigious Tsuyo Cup—and the remainder relegated to the Zako Cup—this round could prove pivotal in defining the competitive landscape heading into the finale.
At the top of Split A, Ozne Wizard, representing Inugami Korone in car #56, arrives at Yeongnam with maximum points after a commanding Fuji victory. His control and consistency have made him the early benchmark in the split.
Close behind, Daniel Barguer, driving for Hoshimachi Suisei in the #41, remains within striking distance, while third-placed Callum Gibbens, representing Roboco in the #64, will be looking to convert consistency into a breakthrough result, while Jake Martinez (Tokoyami Towa, #10) and Mohamed Khashiu (Tsunomaki Watame, #3) round out a tightly contested top five.
However, the true battle lies around the Tsuyo cutoff. Positions six through ten—currently held by Lorenzo Ricci (Houshou Marine), Joshu Asahi (Hakui Koyori), Alticer Antanarau (Nekomata Okayu), Maverick Deuxieme (Omaru Polka), and Ed Skye (Kazama Iroha)—remain highly vulnerable.
Just outside, Chaka Labradores (Natsuiro Matsuri, #7) leads a group of drivers desperate to break into the top ten, where even a single strong result at Yeongnam could dramatically shift the standings.
In Split B, Hoshizono Ryo, representing Nakiri Ayame in the #18, enters Yeongnam as the driver to beat following his dominant Fuji victory.
Aqua Azurii, driving for Oozora Subaru in the #48, remains his closest challenger, while Rudy (Mizumiya Su, #45) continues to impress as the leading DEV-class contender in third.
The fight for Tsuyo Cup qualification is also intense in this split. Drivers such as Jake Goodwin (Ookami Mio, #30) and Yukihara Touka (Yukihana Lamy, #63) currently sit comfortably inside the top five, but the margins behind are razor-thin.
Positions around the cutoff—occupied by Seo Byeong-Eun (Koganei Niko), Joey (Juufuutei Raden), Ho Phu-My (Tokino Sora), Saerin (Otonose Kanade), and Mohd Shaqif Redza (Momosuzu Nene)—are under immediate threat.
Meanwhile, notable names including Kaminari Riba (Shishiro Botan) and Misaki Sakura (AZKi) must deliver strong performances to avoid slipping further behind.
With only one round remaining after Yeongnam, the importance of this weekend cannot be overstated. A strong finish here could mathematically secure Tsuyo Cup qualification, while a poor result may leave drivers relying on final-round miracles.
