Autopolis, Oita – April 25 – The 2025 HoloType Japan Series swings into its second round this weekend at the Autopolis 160-Minute endurance challenge, where the enduring race in the Oita mountainside will separate true title contenders from mid-field hopefuls. Fresh off the Color Rise Harmony Fuji opener, and with graduation ceremonies looming for beloved talent Murasaki Shion, Autopolis promises both high-stakes drama on track and poignant farewells in the paddock.
At Fuji, JP Split A saw Callum Gibbens deliver a masterclass for Roboco, Mohamed Khashiu drive brilliantly for Tsunomaki Watame, and Rustim Kurashio shine for La+ Darknesss—placing first, second and fourth respectively (200–175–130 points) last round. Over in Split B, Tyler Williams stormed home for Amane Kanata and Vladislav Domaschnev scored big for Aki Rosenthal, both amassing 175 points to sit atop the standings.
Autopolis demands relentless concentration, precise strategy, and flawless pit work across a deceptively technical 4.7-kilometre layout. Drivers must juggle tire life and driver stints as lap times climb under Autopolis’s steep uphill and downhill straights.
Adding emotional weight, Kizuhara Leo will don the special jacket livery—not eligible for points—as a guest driver in Split A on the very day of Murasaki Shion’s graduation (April 26). Leo then returns in Split B sporting the t-shirt variant of the HoloType livery based on the t-shirt variant of the Color Rise Idol uniform for one last competitive outing before the car’s retirement. Heartfelt on-track tributes amid the battle for qualifying Tsuyo Cup berths are expected.
As Shion’s final chapter unfolds and Leo makes her emotional guest appearance in the Split A race, Leo will be sure to give her all one more time for the oshi that carried her all these years.
Adding to the bittersweet farewell, Splits A and B in HoloType Japan also promise excitement for the rest of the drivers as they aim to mark their championship hopefuls and try to make the 2025 HoloType Japan Tsuyo Series.
