Jensen and Azurid Triumph in Farewell-Flecked Round 10 as Donington and Nürburgring Spark Drama in Title Chase

25 April – The 2024-25 Formula Hololive International season’s penultimate double-header delivered two contrasting spectacles: a tactical thriller in Split B at Donington Park last Friday and an attritional battle in Split A at the Nürburgring on Sunday. Against the backdrop of Nanashi Mumei and Gawr Gura’s forthcoming graduations, their drivers—Ethan Berthelsen and Grave Prower—pushed hard to honor their oshis in what will be their final active appearances. Meanwhile, the championship lead remained tantalizingly within reach, with Ryan Kagawa’s consistency fending off Javier Lusby and Joshua Azurid’s late charge with two rounds to go.

In a race defined by fuel gambles and strategy swings, Sven Jensen finally broke his FHololive duck for IRyS, surging to victory after Mohd Shazren Redza’s one-stop gamble backfired on the last lap. Redza, poised for his maiden win, coasted into the pits empty-tank on Lap 27, ceding the lead to Jensen and consigning Koseki Bijou to a podium-thwarting fuel stop. Javier Lusby (Vestia Zeta) claimed second, with Redza salvaging third. Tawan Bhumin impressed with a solid fourth on debut in the Fuwawa #25, while Yuri-Rafael de Oliveira (Pavolia Reine) rounded out the top five. Home favourite Tyler Williams endured a rare strategic miscue for Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame, finishing tenth, and Dawn Elys retired early after a Lap 3 collision.

Redza, poised for his maiden win, coasted into the pits empty-tank on Lap 63, ceding the lead to Jensen and consigning Koseki Bijou to a podium-thwarting fuel stop. Home favorite Tyler Williams endured a rare strategic miscue for Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame, finishing tenth, and Dawn Elys retired early after a Lap 3 collision. Sunday’s Nürburgring sprint was equally punishing, as Joshua Azurid delivered his first victory for Mori Calliope in an attritional contest that saw only four finishers. Takeda Adachi secured second for Ninomae Ina’nis, and Mono Zettarou completed the podium for Ouro Kronii. Mumei’s final campaign as active vtuber ended in eighth for Ethan Berthelsen after contact with Hanaori Miyuki on Lap 7, while Grave Prower’s farewell outing for Gura yielded a valiant fifth despite a Lap 39 collision with Aziz Muazif. Angela Sims and Ludwig Boschwald both crashed early, underscoring the Nürburgring’s unforgiving nature. Azurid’s Nürburgring masterclass have injected fresh momentum into the title battle, with him only behind by 400 points. Kagawa’s steady P6 in Donington keeps him atop the standings, but Lusby now trail Kagawa by 100 points with just two races remaining. Round 11 will see the teams head to Italy and Austria, where the fight for the title enters its final sprint. Kagawa's consistency has made him tough to beat, but Lusby’s momentum and Azurid’s resurgence could shake things up. The grid tightens—and the drama only escalates from here.
