Goh and Shazren Redza Crowned Champions at Suzuka in Thrilling HoloGT3 Finale

Suzuka, Japan — October 13: The season finale of the Hololive GT3 Japan Series, the Finale 500 @ Suzuka, delivered a thrilling conclusion to both the Zako and Tsuyo series championships last week. With Lexus cars burdened by ballast, the weekend was full of strategic maneuvers, hard-fought battles, and nail-biting moments.

In the Zako Series, Shawn Goh clinched the championship in commanding style, leading from pole position to take the checkered flag. Driving his Lexus for Ichijou Ririka, Goh never looked back after taking the lead, cruising to victory with a 16-second margin over his closest competitors. This victory cemented his title win after a stellar season.

Finishing in second was Mohd Khashiu, driving for Tsunomaki Watame, who achieved his first podium of the season after a strong race. Meanwhile, Dawid Glover brought home his first podium finish for Otonose Kanade, finishing third.

The race also marked the final appearance for Hiyuta Asano, representing Minato Aqua, who finished ninth. Jake Martinez had a dramatic moment on Lap 37, when he understeered before the hairpin and spun in the grass, narrowly avoiding a collision with Daniel Barguer, resulting in a DNF for Martinez.

Zako Series Final Standings:

1. Shawn Goh (Ichijou Ririka) – 705 points

2. Shaneil Marcman (Juufuutei Raden) – 405 points

3. Kaminari Riba (Shishiro Botan) – 379 points

4. Mohd Khashiu (Tsunomaki Watame) – 373 points

5. Johan Sinful (Natsuiro Matsuri) – 331 points

In the Tsuyo Series, Mohd Shazren Redza capped off a spectacular weekend by securing both the Tsuyo Series and overall Hololive GT3 Japan Series titles. Starting from pole for the 8th time this season in his final race for Himemori Luna, Shazren's race was a tactical affair, as he opted for an overcut strategy. Though he initially lost the lead to Krzysztof Salmonman for AZKi, Shazren managed a stunning comeback, finishing third and sealing the championship.

Salmonman took his second consecutive victory for AZKi, while Goyena drove a brilliant race for Usada Pekora, charging through the field to claim second, his best-ever finish in the series.

The turning point in the championship came late in the race, as Rim Elgore, who started the weekend with a 29-point lead over Shazren, struggled throughout the race and could only manage a 15th-place finish. This opened the door for Shazren Redza, who overcame a 250-point deficit in the last two races to claim the 2024 Hololive GT3 Japan Series title.

Tsuyo Series Final Standings:

1. Mohd Shazren Redza (Himemori Luna) – 430 points

2. Rim Elgore (Oozora Subaru) – 401 points

3. Krzysztof Salmonman (AZKi) – 400 points

4. Isekaijin Mikolev (Sakura Miko) – 359 points

5. Raijin Kacyznski (Yuzuki Choco) – 347 points

The 2024 Hololive GT3 Japan Series will be remembered for its intense battles, thrilling overtakes, dramatic crashes and an intriguing clash for the titles. As the dust settles on Suzuka, the series bids farewell to a landmark season, with Shawn Goh and Mohd Shazren Redza etching their names into the history books as champions.
