Fuji Finale: Kurashio Holds the Crown as Hololive GT3 Japan Heads for Its Last 110 Laps

The championship comes down to Fuji. Rustim Kurashio arrives with a 253-point cushion, but with 400 points still on the table across two 55-lap races, the Finale 500 @ Fuji Speedway could deliver one last twist to the 2026 Hololive GT3 Japan Series.

Fuji Finale: Kurashio Holds the Crown as Hololive GT3 Japan Heads for Its Last 110 Laps

Fuji Speedway, Japan — August 14, 2026 — The 2026 Hololive GT3 Japan Series reaches its finale at Fuji Speedway on August 15-16, with the Finale 500 replacing the originally scheduled Suzuka 500 as Round 4/4 and the concluding chapter of the championship. Race 1 will run Saturday and Race 2 Sunday, with both 55-lap contests scheduled to start at 3 p.m. JST.

And while Rustim Kurashio enters the weekend sitting comfortably at the top of the standings, the championship is not technically over until those final laps are complete. Kurashio leads the championship with 1,421 points in the Nissan GT-R GT3 2018 representing La+ Darknesss, 253 points clear of Saerin's Ferrari 296 GT3 for Otonose Kanade. Danilo Goyena sits third on 1,121 points in the Honda NSX GT3 Evo representing Usada Pekora, with Allie Jay fourth on 1,111 points in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 representing Kikirara Vivi.

Kurashio has been remarkably difficult to dislodge throughout the season, combining a championship-leading 375-point best finish with strong performances across the opening three rounds. The Nissan has been one of the defining cars of the season, and the #39 arrives at Fuji with the title in its hands.

That makes Saerin the obvious mathematical challenger. The Ferrari driver has accumulated 1,168 points and has been one of the few competitors capable of repeatedly matching the championship leader's scoring pace. If Kurashio suffers a disastrous weekend while Saerin converts both races into maximum-scoring opportunities, the door is theoretically open.

Goyena's Honda sits only 10 points ahead of Jay's Lamborghini, making third place one of the closest major championship battles heading into the finale. Sammy Ake follows in fifth on 1,075 points with the Nissan representing Shirakami Fubuki, while Vladislav Domaschnev's Lexus RC-F for Aki Rosenthal sits sixth on 977.

The top ten remains populated by drivers who have all had their moments during the season. Shawn Goh is seventh on 922 in the Aston Martin Vantage representing Ichijou Ririka, Rey Mark Rosales is eighth on 921 with Shiranui Flare's Nissan, Mohamed Shaqif Redza is ninth on 839 with Momosuzu Nene's Nissan, and Airi Nakamura rounds out the top ten on 815 with Akai Haato's Honda.

Fuji's long straights reward outright speed, while its technical sections can expose cars and drivers that are already operating at the limit. With two races packed into one championship weekend, there is little room for a driver to have an off day.

There is also unfinished business further down the order. Rudy, driving the Audi R8 LMS Evo2 representing Mizumiya Su, enters 14th on 681 points. Dag Patterson is 20th on 596 in the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo2 representing Isaki Riona, while Lorenzo Ricci is 30th on 445 with the Lexus representing Houshou Marine. The finale offers one last opportunity for the midfield to turn a long season into a memorable ending.

It is the last chance to see the 2026 Hololive GT3 Japan grid fight for points before Hololive GT3 closes its chapter as a championship as a racing series based on the Origin Idol outfits that have raced since 2022. The grandstands will get 55 laps on Saturday, another 55 on Sunday, and potentially 110 laps of pressure on the drivers who have spent the year chasing this moment.

The title favorite has the advantage. The challengers have the mathematics. Now Fuji gets to decide whether Kurashio's championship lead was the end of the story—or merely the setup for one final surprise.
