Miyagi, 14 June 2024 – In a heartfelt tribute to the late Angela Sims, the Formula Hololive Japan series will honor her memory during the upcoming SUGO GP weekend. All participating cars will display a special #o7AS33 sticker, commemorating Sims' contributions and spirit within the Adak-RMS Organization (ARO) racing community.
Angela Sims, who passed away on 11 June 2024 at the age of 24, was a respected and admired competitor in the 2023-24 Formula Hololive International series. Despite the personal challenges she faced, Sims made significant strides on the track, securing two podium finishes and six top-10 placements. Her impressive performances included pole positions at the Phillip Island GP and Buriram SP, and near-victories at the Sepang SP and Spielberg GP.
The #o7AS33 tribute, bearing Sims' initials and racing number, symbolizes a salute to her legacy. The gesture is a reminder of her influence and the indelible mark she left on the racing community. The SUGO GP, the final race of the 2024 Formula Hololive Japan Qualifiers, will serve as a fitting stage for this tribute, as drivers and fans alike remember a competitor whose dedication and resilience inspired many.
"We felt like we need to do something special to honor Angela's memory," said Mohd Shazren Redza, CEO of the Adak-RMS Organization. "The #o7AS33 tribute is a way for us to celebrate her life and acknowledge her contributions to the sport. Angela was a remarkable person and a talented racer. Her spirit will always be part of the ARO family."
As the SUGO GP weekend approaches, the entire Formula Hololive Japan community prepares to pay homage to Angela Sims. The tribute will serve as a poignant reminder of her passion for racing and the impact she had on her fellow competitors and fans. The SUGO GP will not only be a race for qualification but also a celebration of a life that touched many within the ARO scene.
