Dramatic Victory for the Kenzoku: Jeff Rohan Secures Win at Autopolis 400

Autopolis, 6 January 2024 — The Autopolis 400 witnessed high-octane drama as Jeff Rohan, representing Tokoyami Towa in the #10 Honda NSX GT3, clinched victory in the 2nd round of the 2024 Hololive GT3 Japan Series Qualifiers. The race was filled with unexpected twists that changed the complexion of the qualifiers standings and left fans on the edge of their seats.

The early frontrunners, Phu-My in the Tokino Sora # 1 Nissan and Barguer representing Suisei in his #41 GT-R, faced misfortune as they crashed out in the pits. The turn of events allowed the Honda drivers in the top 5 to capitalize on the chaos and make their move towards the front.

Rodd, representing Shirakami Fubuki, endured a collision with Sean Poly (representing Inugami Korone) after exiting the pits, leading to a race-altering incident. Poly received a 45-second penalty from the stewards for his involvement in the collision, changing the dynamics of the competition.

In a thrilling battle for the lead, Usada Pekora representative Danilo Goyena in the #11 Honda NSX and Jeff Rohan chased down Poly, making it a three-way contest. Goyena fought hard but made a crucial mistake on Lap 44 as he overshot himself at Turn 14, opening the door for Rohan to seize the opportunity.

The final lap saw a determined Rohan pursuing Poly, who defended his position fiercely. Rohan was eager to not only win on penalties but also win on merit. By the end, Poly crossed the line in 1st, in what would be Korone's first win since July 2022, however, his hopes were dashed when the 45-second penalty was applied, dropping him to 15th place. Rohan crossed the finish line, securing a jubilant victory for Tokoyami Towa in what can only be described as a nail-biting finish.

In a post-race interview, an elated Jeff Rohan shared, "Yeah, it's an incredible feeling to secure my oshi's first win in a year and a half. The race was intense, sure, the circumstances were right for us to get this win, but for now I want to keep my head down,be consistent in the next two races and get myself in the Tsuyo (Series)."

As the Hololive GT3 Japan Series Qualifiers continue, Rohan's triumph puts him in 6th place in the qualifiers standings, 66 points behind points leader Raijin Kacyznski.
