August 10 - The 2024-25 Formula Hololive International season is upon us, and with it comes the excitement and anticipation of a new year of racing. This season kicks off with two spectacular events on August 10, with Split A taking to the Korea International Circuit in Yeongnam, and Split B racing at the iconic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. Both venues are known for their challenging layouts, and they promise to set the stage for an intense battle for the championship.
The Yeongnam Superprix will see some of the top drivers in ARO competitions competing for an early advantage in the championship. Among the favorites is defending champion Aziz Muazif representing Ayunda Risu, who grabbed his maiden title last season with a total of 975 points. His consistent performance and racecraft make him a strong contender to retain his title. Just take a look at his podium finishes; 4 podiums in 10 races.
However, the competition in Split A is fierce. Deadbeat Jake Martinez who finished 6th last season with 810 points, is expected to challenge for the top spot. Martinez has proven that he can win races, see last season's Malaysia GP, and he will be eager to capitalize on any opportunities.
Takodachi representative Takeda Adachi with 846 points last season, is another strong contender. Known for his aggressive driving style, en route to the Indonesia GP win, Adachi will be looking to improve on his previous performance and push for a podium finish in the championship this season.
Representing Ouro Kronii, Juani Castanto who scored 719 points has the potential to upset the established order and make a significant impact on the championship standings.
Sewer rat Liam Kai who had solid performances last season, at the Ontario GP in particular, will also be one to watch. With the addition of guest drivers, in this split, such as Kaminari Riba who is set to represent Raora Panthera, the race at Yeongnam is shaping up to be a thrilling start to the season.
Meanwhile, in Split B, the Montreal Superprix will feature another set of top-tier drivers. KFP Employee Corey-Rico Mendez who scored 769 points last season and the win at the season ending race at Indianapolis has something in him to surprise everyone. His aim is to be more consistent up top.
Teamate Bernardo Santiago, with 592 points last season, and IRyStrocrat Sven Jensen are aiming to win a points race in this season's Formula Hololive International, following wins at the Capture the Moment Grand Prix @ Fuji for these drivers, albeit being non-points races for INT drivers.
As last season's runner-up with 925 points, Sapling Zeke Wimberley is undoubtedly one of the favorites. After narrowly missing out on the championship last year, Wimberley will be determined to go one step further this time around. With 3 wins last season which puts him as the winningest driver in the 23-24 season, his target is to finish more consistently up front.
Proxy Pebble Mohd Shazren Redza just moved in full-time for Koseki Bijou, with 175 points from the final two races of last season. With experience in Formula Hololive Japan under his belt, he has the potential to surprise the field and could be a dark horse in the championship battle.
Guest drivers Tyler Williams and Alticer Antanarau (to be replaced by Hiyuta Asano from Round 7) will look to make an immediate impact as guest entries with experience from Formula Hololive Japan.
The opening rounds of the 2024-25 Formula Hololive International season are set to be highly competitive, with multiple drivers in both splits looking to mark their championship credentials early. Fans will be spoiled of the amount of racing within 12 hours for Round 1.
With both races happening on the same day, the action will be non-stop as the drivers push their limits to claim early glory. The stakes are high, and the stage is set for what looks to be an interesting start to the 2024-25 season.
